Now is the perfect time to leverage incentives that can significantly reduce your solar energy project costs.

New Energy Incentives for 2025: Unlocking Opportunities for Businesses

As 2025 kicks off, there are several exciting new energy incentives available for businesses looking to enhance their energy efficiency and sustainability. These incentives, especially targeted at solar photovoltaic (PV) installations and energy management systems, are designed to support industries in reducing their energy costs and carbon footprints.

1. Solar Photovoltaic Distributed Energy Resources Incentives Incentives are now available for both small and large commercial, industrial, and institutional participants who want to reduce their energy demand through behind-the-meter solar installations. Microgeneration projects under 10 kW are eligible for $1,000 per kW of direct current (DC) capacity, while larger systems exceeding 10 kW up to 1 MW can receive up to $860 per kW of alternating current (AC) capacity, covering up to 50% of the project costs.

2. Industrial Energy Management Information System Incentives Energy management systems are now eligible for generous incentives under the Green Industrial Facilities and Manufacturing Program. Companies with an annual baseline energy consumption of 400,000 GJ or less can receive up to $50,000, while larger facilities with higher consumption can access up to $250,000, contributing up to 50% of eligible project costs.

3. Bonus Offer for Electricity-Constrained Areas Businesses located in electricity-constrained regions are eligible for double the incentives typically available for non-lighting prescriptive measures. This offer applies to projects in specific regions and targets eligible projects that can reduce grid demand.

4. Retrofit Regional Adders In addition to standard retrofit incentives, certain areas are eligible for increased funding. Through the Retrofit regional adders, non-lighting prescriptive measures in targeted electricity-constrained regions can receive double the standard incentive. This includes regions across Ontario, such as Niagara, Kingston, and Southern Huron Perth, among others.

This is a pivotal time for businesses to take action and leverage these energy-saving incentives. Whether upgrading energy management systems or installing solar solutions, these incentives provide significant financial support to accelerate projects.
